It reads the conditions near you specifically, and shows you exactly which area that reading is for, so you always know how much to trust what's on the screen.

If it isn't sure where you are, it says so plainly, rather than quietly guessing.

Privacy Policy

Weather Kaki is built to show you the weather without asking for much in return. The app itself collects as little as possible, aside from what its advertising partner requires, which is explained below.

Location

Your location is used to work out which part of Singapore to show you. If you decline location access, the app still works and shows readings for Central Singapore.

If you switch the air quality reading to the US AQI scale, your coordinates are sent to the World Air Quality Index to fetch the reading for your area. On the National Environment Agency setting, which is the default, your coordinates stay on the device.

Weather and air quality data

Readings come from the National Environment Agency through data.gov.sg, and from the World Air Quality Index. Weather Kaki does not operate its own weather stations or sensors.

In-app purchase

The Remove Ads purchase is processed entirely through Apple's StoreKit framework. Weather Kaki does not see, handle, or store any payment or billing information.

Advertising

Free users see a single banner advertisement served by Google AdMob, a third-party ad network.

The advertisement is non-personalised. Weather Kaki asks AdMob not to use your data to target ads, and the app never requests permission to track you, so it has no access to your device's advertising identifier. You will not see Apple's tracking permission prompt, because there is nothing to ask for.

AdMob still receives the technical information needed to deliver an advertisement at all, including your IP address, device type and operating system version. It uses this for frequency capping, reporting and fraud prevention, under its own policies. Your IP address gives it an approximate location.

A one-time purchase removes the advertisement and this data use.

What Weather Kaki does not do

Weather Kaki does not require an account or login of any kind.
Weather Kaki does not sell your data, ever, to anyone.
Weather Kaki does not ask to track you across other apps and websites.
Weather Kaki itself does not store your location history. AdMob may retain data under its own policies, separate from Weather Kaki's control.

These Terms of Service govern your use of Weather Kaki ("Weather Kaki"), an iOS application developed and operated by Calvin Ng, based in Singapore.

By downloading or using Weather Kaki, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

The App

Weather Kaki is a weather and air quality app for Singapore. It is designed specifically for Singapore locations and will not show accurate readings outside the country.

Data Sources

Weather and air quality readings are sourced from the National Environment Agency through data.gov.sg, and from the World Air Quality Index. Weather Kaki does not guarantee the accuracy, timeliness, or completeness of this data, and is not responsible for decisions made based on it.

In-App Purchase

Weather Kaki offers a one-time Remove Ads purchase processed entirely through Apple's App Store and StoreKit framework. All purchases are:

Processed by Apple. Weather Kaki does not handle or store any payment or billing information
Non-refundable, in accordance with Apple's standard App Store refund policy
Restorable. If you reinstall the app or switch devices, you can restore previous purchases at no additional cost

Acceptable Use

Weather Kaki is intended for personal, non-commercial use. You agree not to:

Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the app
Use the app for any unlawful purpose
Attempt to interfere with the app's functionality

Intellectual Property

All content within Weather Kaki, including the design, code, copy, and app icon, is the intellectual property of Calvin Ng. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of the app without explicit written permission.

Privacy

Your privacy is important. For full details, refer to the Privacy Policy.

Disclaimer of Warranties

Weather Kaki is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. Calvin Ng does not warrant that the app will be error-free, uninterrupted, or free of bugs. Use the app at your own discretion.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Calvin Ng shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of Weather Kaki, including but not limited to decisions made based on weather or air quality data shown in the app.

Changes to These Terms

These terms may be updated from time to time. Significant changes will be communicated through the app or App Store update notes. Continued use of Weather Kaki after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

Governing Law

These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of Singapore. Any disputes arising from these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Singapore.
